Anyone who listens deeply can sense the undercurrents of pain beneath the deluge of distractions in today's world. People report feeling alone despite the constant stream of social media updates vying for our attention; and we feel disempowered by the endless, algorithmically stoked, shock content dominating our news feeds. Equally, the sense of fellowship fades as we drift further from direct engagement with family and friends, straining our need for intimacy and heartfelt connection.
