Evenings with History

Now in its 21st year, Evenings with History is a celebrated lecture series that brings Milledgeville and Middle Georgia’s past to life. Each month, local historians and community experts share engaging stories about the people, events, and cultural moments that shaped our region.

In March, Ashley Quinn will discuss the masonry headstones and sculptures of Eldren M. Bailey, a Black folk artist from Atlanta whose unique works—crafted in concrete, plaster, and paint—are found in cemeteries throughout Atlanta and the surrounding area. Held at Allen’s Market every third Tuesday, this free series offers an accessible way to explore local history, art, and culture while connecting with the community.
