About the event
Join us as we celebrate the artwork of one of our founders and Milledgeville's former First Lady, Beegee Baugh. The Marlor House will be open Monday - Friday 9 AM - 4 PM throughout the exhibit.
*About the Artist*
Betty George “BeeGee” Clark Baugh was born in Thomasville, GA on September 13th, 1929. She graduated from Ochlocknee High School and attended the Georgia State College for Women from 1946 – 1950 where she graduated with a BA in Art Education. In 1950, she married James Emory Baugh.
BeeGee taught art at the Georgia State College for Women and then for 12 years at Baldwin High School. In 1968, BeeGee along with Betty Snyder, Jane Headley, and Dorrie Neligan formed “The Paint Pot”, where they would paint and teach art to children and adults in our community.
