Friends of Allied Arts

Friends Membership Drive 2007-2008

The Friends of Allied Arts Advisory Council is made up of a group of dedicated volunteers that work to promote and facilitate arts opportunites in our community and schools. In addition to their fundraising efforts they are also the primary resource for hospitality at exhibition openings and for box office assistance at performing arts events.

Every fall the "Friends" kick-off their annual membership campaign. According to JoAnn Burns, incoming President of the Friends "Almost all of the funds we realize from memberships go toward special arts projects in the schools and toward continued development of the Marlor Arts Center facilities. Memberships forms for the coming year will arrive around September 1 and will include information for anyone wishing to volunteer with the Friends."

ART ADVENTURE

This year the Friends, in partnership with the Milledgeville Civic Womans's Club, will sponsor ART ADVENTURE, a project whose goal is to bring art classes to all 4th grade students in the public school system. Friends Advisory Council member and Civic Woman's Club Art Committee Chair Sara O'Neal says, "After a very sucessful pilot program at Creekside Elementary last year, we are eager to move ahead with ART ADVENTURE." Anyone wishing to volunteer or support ART ADVENTURE is encouraged to call Allied Arts at 478-452-3950.
