Theatre Sampler with Ms. Ruby

July 12 - 16  

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 2 pm     Ages: 6 & Up                   Cost: $65.

A fun filled week of theatre games, improvisations and humorous skits under the direction of Ruby Werts.  Students will learn theatre skills & skits, monologues and theatre games and develop them into a full scale production.  Students should bring a sack lunch.  This camp will conclude with a staged production on Friday, July 16


Digital Photography for youth with Rudy Mendes

July 19 -23

Session I: Ages: 6 - 9    Time: 9:00 a.m. - Noon   Cost: $65.

Session II: Ages: 10 & up Time: 1:00 p.m. - 3 p.m. Cost: $65.

Macon artist Rudy Mendes returns this summer with the perfect beginning digital photography class. Students will learn how to make great pictures, learn art fundamentals including color, composition, and design principals. Digital Bridges will provide software and computers to manipulate, edit and print their best images. This fun-filled camp includes supervised photo shoots around downtown Milledgeville and an end-of-camp slide presentation and student exhibition. All equipment and supplies provided!

Workshops and classes for Adults

Are you interested in learning how to weave a Colonial Footstool?

Allied Arts will be offering a Colonial footstool weaving workshop in the future featuring master weavers Floyd and Melissa  Anderson.  Floyd and Melissa can teach you to weave with flat cane in the herringbone pattern on a classic footstool.

Complete a colonial footstool in a half-day workshop. The stained and varnished footstool and the flat cane would be provided.  If you are interested in completing a colonial footstool, contact Allied Arts at 478-452-3950.


Chair Bottoming Workshop

Saturday, November 27,

 9:00 am to 2:00 pm               Fee: $55.00

Don’t throw away that old bottomless kitchen chair! Bring it to this workshop and Floyd & Melissa will teach you how to put a flat cane herringbone pattern bottom in it. Flat cane will be provided. No experience necessary, children accompanied by an adult are welcomeYou provide chair.  Contact Allied Arts to make sure you have the right style of chair or if you need to purchase a chair to work on.


Watercolor landscape painting with Berry Smith

October 16

Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm        Cost: $65.

Join watercolor artist Berry Smith as he leads you through a number of different watercolor paintings.  Learn basic composition, color and watercolor techniques used in creating a landscape painting.  Berry will break down a landscape painting into several steps and everyone will have an opportunity to watch and observe how each step proceeds.  This class is designed for any skill level and Berry will work with each student individually.  A supply list will be provided.
