“Acts of Vision: The Graphic
Art of Barry Moser” at Marlor Center
An exhibition entitled “Acts of
Vision: The Graphic Art of Barry Moser” is on display now through
Friday, October 17 at the Marlor Arts Center, 201 North Wayne
Street, Milledgeville, Georgia. The exhibition has been planned in
conjunction with the O'Connor Symposium at Georgia College & State
University that takes place October 8-11. The public is invited to
meet Moser during a reception in his honor on Wednesday, October 8
from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. During the reception Moser will present a
gallery lecture at 3:30 pm.
This exhibition of Moser’s work at
the Marlor Center includes works based on the stories of
Milledgeville’s Flannery O’Connor as well as a portrait of the
author. Over thirty portraits of other authors, many of them
contemporaries of O’Connor, are also on exhibit. Many of the images
in the exhibition relate to other prominent literary works and well
known fictional characters. Images he created for The Pennyroyal
Caxton Bible are also featured in this exhibition. According to Arts
Director Randy Cannon, “ This is a rare opportunity to see an
impressive body of work by an artist of this caliber”.
