Summer Camps 2008 for Youth 3-D Clay Animation with Rudy Mendes June 2 - 6 Session I: Ages: 6 - 9 Time: 9:00 a.m. - noon Cost: $70. Session II : Ages: 10 & up Time: 1:00 p.m. - 3 p.m. Cost: $70. Make your stories come alive through stop motion animation. Students will craft a short animated movie using plasticine clay to create 3-D characters. Students will learn how to write story boards, scripts and design sets for their movie. So bring your imagination and learn about this exciting art form. Supplies are located at Michael's art store in Macon: 1 Claytoon clay set, 1 lb $4.00 Drawing with Pam Daresta June 9-13 Time: 9:00 a.m. - noon Ages: 6 - 9 Cost: $75. Childrens’ Drawing for those who love to draw with pencils, charcoal, chalks in color and black on white, we will draw creatures from our imagination, insects larger than life, and some of nature’s beauty we find outside our studio door. If you like to draw you will learn drawing skills that will make your drawings come to life. Printmaking with Pam Daresta June 9 - 13 Time: 1:00 p.m. - 3 p.m. Ages: 10 & up Cost: $75. Printmaking for Students will turn your favorite drawing subjects into intaglio, relief, and mono printing works of art. Each process uses different materials and produces varied image qualities. All materials will be nontoxic and water based. We have all been printmakers with muddy feet or sticky fingers! Printmaking as an art is more fun and you won't get in trouble for messing up the kitchen floor…Theatre Sampler with Ms. Ruby June 16 - 20 Time: 9:00 a.m. - 2 pm Ages: 6 & up Cost: $73. A fun filled week of theatre games, stage combat, improvisations and humorous skits under the direction of Ruby Werts. Students will learn theatre skills & skits, monologues, theatre games and improvisations and develop them into a full scale production. This camp will conclude with a staged production on Friday, June 20. Students should bring a sack lunch during this camp. Tiny ACT with Ms.Ruby July 7 - 11 Time: 10:30am - Noon Ages: 3 - 4 Cost: $20. Young children will have the opportunity to experience acting, moving, singing, dancing and playing instruments. This camp will expose young children to fun and games, using ribbon sticks, scarves, costumes and lots of movement games. Puppet making & Storytelling with Akbar Imhotep July 14 - 18Session I: Ages: 6 - 9 years Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Cost: $80. Session II: Ages: 10 - 14 Time: 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Cost: $80. Puppeteer and Storyteller Akbar Imhotep will lead participants in creating a story or adapting a well-known folktale into a production. After writing their stories, students will create puppets, props and scenery to stage their stories while learning basic theatre and storytelling techniques. Students will then rehearse and stage their masterpieces for friends and family on the last day of class. Supplies will be provided.
